Did you take part in The Big Read? If so, the National Endwoment for the Arts would like to hear about your Big Read experience! Feedback from readers like you will tell them what happens when communities come together to read and celebrate literature, and what the impact has been for overall reading. Welcome!

In October 2007 we are planning a state-wide reading project focused on the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. We will have libraries, bookstores, community centers, schools, and lots of New Hampshire residents involved.

This project is part of The Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest.

New Hampshire supporters include The Center for the Book at the New Hampshire State Library, The NH Department of Cultural Resources, and the New Hampshire Humanites Council. There is a list of participating organizations with links to their web sites at the bottom of this page.

We are still in the planning stages, so please check back for additional information as this project develops. If you have questions please contact Mary Russell at the NH Center for the Book.
