The Giver by Lois Lowry

The Giver sends a message that you should stand up for what you believe in. It would be important for future generations to read this because it gives you a great lesson. The main character Jonas has to live with memories of pain and even happiness that no one else knows about, and he can't tell them either. I think it is also important because it is good to read an unusual book like this; it makes the book more interesting.
